In 2015, our love for children, our passion, our imagination and the pursuit for alternative ways of learning, led to the establishment of Eduk8 a company that has been "built" on eight pillars
Our belief is that the game has a positive effect on children’s development. More specifically, some of the benefits that children acquire are social skills, the ability of solving everyday problems, communication skills, the ability to self - regulate their behavior and control their emotions.
Additionally, regarding the influence of the academic course, children who spend more time playing, enrich their vocabulary, get more creative and become able to pay more attention in the classroom during the delivery of the course in relation to children who do not tend to play as often.
"The time passes children playing is learning time (LEGO Learning Institute, 2002).»
Our main partner, LEGO® Education, for 35 years has been working with teachers and educational specialists to provide solutions and resources that are used in the classroom to bring subjects to life and make learning fun.
These methods inspire the interest in Science, Technology, Mechanics, Computer Science, Mathematics and Humanities.
Robotics in Education
When children constructing and planning robots have the opportunity to learn while playing and to develop new skills.
Robotics, on the one hand is a fun and interesting activity that allows student to get involved with the action and on the other hand it can be used at all levels of education to teach various concepts.
Physical (study of motion, study of the effect of friction, study of the relationship of forces and energy transfer) Mathematics and Geometry (ratios, distance measurement, understanding basic geometric properties such as perimeter) Engineering (construction, testing and evaluation of engineering solutions)
Technology (technological literacy)
History (eg. To build a robot catapult - Archimedes - children have the opportunity to learn about the development of the technology of the time and the work and personality of Archimedes)
Combining concepts from different knowledge areas (technology, art, environment, society, mathematics, science) with interdisciplinary project (synthetic work)
Educational Robotics has positive effects outside the domain cognitive and emotional (self-esteem, self-confidence) and social (socialization, demystifying).
With the help of robotics the teacher can focus on the development and other critical skills a person needs in the 21st century:
- Problem solving (analysis, design, implementation, testing and experimentation, evaluation)
- Project management (time management, project and resource allocation)
- Communication skills
- Valuable cognitive skills (analytical and synthetic thinking, creativity, critical thinking)
The vision of robotics is all students to develop these skills, which in the context of globalization are imperative for the preparation of world citizens who can contribute positively worldwide.
In Eduk8 you will find all educational lines, activity packs, educational resources and programming tools that can inspire learning and meet the needs of your curriculum at all levels of education, but also in adult education
